Download

Get the latest version from typeoff.ai/download.

• macOS: .dmg installer (Apple Silicon & Intel)
• Windows: .exe installer
• iOS: App Store
• Android: .apk installer

Setup

Desktop (macOS & Windows)

1. Install & Launch

Open the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Typeoff will appear in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows).

2. Grant Permissions

• Microphone — required for voice recording (prompted automatically)
• Accessibility (macOS only) — required for text insertion at cursor position. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable Typeoff.

3. Sign In

Open Typeoff and sign in with your account. A free plan is available with weekly character limits.

4. Start Using

• macOS: Press and hold Fn, speak, then release
• Windows: Press and hold Right Ctrl, speak, then release

Your speech will be transcribed and inserted at your cursor position.

Mobile (iOS & Android)

1. Install & Enable

Install Typeoff from the App Store on iOS or install the APK on Android, then follow the in-app steps to enable Typeoff as a system keyboard.

2. Switch Keyboard

In any app, switch to the Typeoff keyboard using the input method switcher.

3. Start Using

Tap the microphone button on the keyboard and speak. Your speech will be transcribed and inserted into the input field.

Desktop-only capabilities such as global hotkeys and local offline transcription are not currently available in the mobile keyboard apps.

Recording Modes

You can switch modes in Typeoff settings.
