To provide and improve our services, we may collect the following types of information:

- Email address (when logging in via Google OAuth)

- Voice input usage frequency and duration
- Device information (operating system version, device type)
- Application usage and performance data
1.3 Voice Data
The data flow depends on the feature and processing mode you choose:
- Desktop local mode: Audio is transcribed on your device and is not sent to Typeoff.
- Cloud transcription: Audio is sent through a TLS-encrypted connection to Typeoff's real-time service and the speech-recognition providers needed to return a transcript.
- Transcripts and app context: Typeoff stores original text, processed text, and the active application name or identifier in an account-linked transcription record so History, reprocessing, support, and service diagnostics can work.
- Ask Anything: The text you select and your spoken instruction are sent through Typeoff to the AI provider needed to answer the request. Typeoff does not add the selected text itself to your transcription history.
- Diagnostic audio: In cloud mode, Typeoff stores audio with the related transcription record in protected object storage for troubleshooting and service quality review.
Typeoff does not use your audio, transcripts, selected text, personal vocabulary, or app context to train Typeoff models.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve Typeoff services
- To process your voice input and provide accurate transcription
- To personalize your user experience
- To send you important service notifications and updates
- To analyze service usage to improve product features
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Data Security
We implement strict security measures to protect your personal information:
- Transport Encryption: Data sent between your device, Typeoff, and required service providers is encrypted in transit via TLS. This is not end-to-end encryption because cloud features must process the content.
- Local Processing: Data is processed on local devices whenever possible
- Access Control: Strict limitations on internal access to user data
- Regular Audits: Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted third parties who assist us in operating our services (such as cloud service providers), who are contractually bound to protect your data
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or in good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process
- Protection of Rights: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Typeoff, our users, or the public

- Cloud Audio and Transcription Records: Retained with the account-linked record until you ask us to delete the data or delete your account, unless a longer period is legally required
- Ask Anything Selected Text: Processed for the request and not added by Typeoff to your transcription history
- Usage Data: Retained for up to 12 months for analysis and service improvement
- Technical Log Data: Retained for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting purposes
When you delete your account, we will delete all related personal information within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain certain information.
8. Children's Privacy
Typeoff is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and the “Last Updated” date will be revised.
